New Funding Opportunity for Research on Countering Violent Extremism in 2025

The AVERT Research Network is pleased to share a new funding opportunity from the Department of Home Affairs. In support of the Department’s national security and counter-terrorism objectives, this call for proposals seeks to commission up to four research projects under Phase 2 of the National Research Project. This call for proposals is seeking to fund research projects to deliver operationally relevant research outputs on critical areas such as best practices for CVE interventions, to counter new forms of violent extremism, support for families of at-risk youth, effective CVE interventions for neuro-diverse clients and understanding what youth bystander approaches best work in relation to violent extremism.

Each project is eligible for funding up to AUD $200,000 (GST exclusive).
